To the Editor:

State Sen. Tom Patton: You have repeatedly responded for over 20 years to help our men and women in the armed forces in many areas.

Once when a soldier made the ultimate sacrifice, you were one who responded with legislation to honor their sacrifice and memory for this great nation.

Next, when a veteran is in need, you are the first to ask, "How can we help?" When food was needed for a food bank, you stood with many to collect food for our homeless for hours in adverse conditions.

You, Mr. Patton, have always answered the call to duty, to help our men and women in need and continue to help improve their lives.

Our journey through life continues because of your acts of kindness to so many.
