Josh Gray narrowed his college search to two schools, but when Alderson-Broaddus College made a push for the Brunswick lacrosse player, his mother, Jackie, encouraged him to give the school a look.

Rugby notches second win

Brunswick's rugby team added a second win to its record when it defeated Shaker Heights 33-15.

Leading the way and helping up Brunswick's record to 2-2 was Kevin Fox. He had three tries in the win. Sobhit Haribhakti and Dana Zack each scored, while Colin Curtis made four conversion kicks.

Bova commits to Akron

Another Brunswick baseball has solidified his future in the sport.

Senior captain Anthony Bova committed April 14 to the University of Akron. The 6-foot, 180-pound center fielder said he will receive preferred walk-on status to the Division I school.

Devils' Badowski named all-star

Brunswick sophomore guard Ryan Badowski, who is well on his way to being perhaps the best guard in Brunswick history, has been named a first-team Post All-Star for the 2011-12 boys basketball season. Badowski averaged a team-best 15.6 points in his second varsity season. He also averaged just under three assists per game against 2.5 turnovers. He shot 32 percent from 3-point range and 80.2 percent from the foul line. Following the season, Badowski was named first-team All-Northeast Ohio Conference in the talent-rich Valley Division. He was also second-team All-Northeast Ohio Inland District and received an honorable mention on the Division I All-Ohio team.

Bulic, Bowen named All-Stars

Brunswick teammates Gabby Bulic and Cassi Bowen can add Post All-Stars to a list a postseason accolades. Bulic has been chosen as one of five first-team members from The Post's 14-school coverage area. Bowen has been named to the second team. The pair helped Brunswick to a 15-8 overall record this year and led Brunswick to the Medina Division I District championship game for the second consecutive year, the first time the Blue Devils have made back-to-back district finals since 1991-92.
