Medina Township Police

May 3 – Police and county Drug Task Force agents were involved in a pursuit with a group of subjects wanted for a "smash and grab" theft of a purse at an Eastpointe Drive business at 11:15 a.m. Spike strips were deployed and the subjects were later apprehended on a nearby interstate.

Medina Police

May 1 – Police stopped a male driving a Lexus for speeding on West Liberty Street at 9:45 p.m. Marijuana was reportedly located in the vehicle during the traffic stop and Benjamin W. Cunningham, 22, of Central Park Lane, was arrested for obstructing official business, as well as driving under suspension.

April 29 – Daniel C. Rippee, 35, of East Washington Street, was arrested on a warrant at a South Court Street residence at 7:30 p.m.

April 29 – Police took a report for a 49-year-old man missing from the hospital at 6:13 p.m.

April 29 – Genieva D. Sandel, 18, of Bronson Street, was arrested for criminal trespass after police responded to a disturbance at a Lafayette Road address at 1:04 p.m.

April 27 – Steven J. Artim, 27, of Wimbleton Drive, was arrested for domestic violence at 9:50 a.m.

April 26 – Jameira C. Bell, 20, of Springbrook Drive, was arrested for domestic violence at 6:49 p.m.

April 26 – Anna C. Eckerman, 28, of West Union Street, was arrested on a warrant at her residence at 5:25 p.m.

April 26 – Police stopped the driver of a Ford Taurus for a lanes violation on West Smith Road at 3:35 a.m. The driver, Rodney A. Carr, 50, of Akron, was arrested on a warrant.

April 25 – A North Court Street business was reportedly burglarized. About $60 was stolen.

April 25 – Tiffany M. Salsgiver, 22, of Springbrook Drive, was arrested at a West Union Street address for trespassing at 10:35 p.m. Christine M. Young, 30, of West Union Street, was arrested for complicity.

April 25 – Robert J. Leonard, 50, of South Elmwood Avenue, was arrested on a warrant during a traffic stop on West Smith Road at 12:39 a.m.

Medina Township Police

May 2 – Police responded to a Chapman Lane residence in reference to a fight at 8:03 p.m.

May 1 – Police assisted fire department personnel with a tractor fire at a Remsen Road address at 4:18 p.m.

May 1 – Police responded to a fight at a Medina Road business at 1:38 a.m.

April 30 – Christina Edwards was issued a summons for theft at a Pearl Road retail store at 7:35 p.m.

April 28 – Police took a report for breaking and entering at a Pearl Road address at 12:50 p.m. Forced entry was reportedly made to a rear entrance. An investigation continues.

April 25 – Police responded to a domestic disturbance at a Granger Road residence at 11:12 p.m. A verbal dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend who live together reportedly took place. No threats were made by either party and the male agreed to leave for the night. No action was taken.

Montville Township Police

May 2 – Dwayne Clark, 25, of Wadsworth, was cited for failure to stop at a red light after a vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of Medina and Windfall roads at 4:12 p.m.

May 1 – A fight involving five or six people was reported in a Medina Road parking lot around 1:30 a.m. Police were unable to locate the vehicles the people left in.

April 30 – A semi-truck hit a tree while at a Wooster Pike Road business at 8:48 a.m. The driver was taken to the hospital by LST after complaining of chest pain.

April 30 – A vehicle was stopped for marked lanes on Windfall Road at 12:31 a.m. The driver, Kenneth Dixon, 30, of Wadsworth, was charged with OVI, OVI refusal and cited for marked lanes.

April 29 – An officer stood by while a group of seven people left a Medina Road business after reportedly harassing a gay couple there and throwing items in an outdoor fire just before midnight.

April 29 – At 10:26 am., an officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle with no license plate light on Medina Road. While speaking with the driver, Duane Dixson, 23, of Medina, the officer smelled marijuana A search of the vehicle allegedly revealed a small bag of marijuana and a joint. Dixson was cited for possession of marijuana.

April 28 – The homeowner of a Churchill Way residence reported he saw someone park in front of his house and went toward his home before going back. It was found a PVC cap was broken on his lawn sprinkler valve in the same area.

April 27 – A vehicle was stopped on Montville Drive for loud exhaust and failure to signal at 8:29 p.m. It was found the driver, Charles Rush Jr., 53, had both a suspended license and a felony warrant for grand theft out of Florida. He was taken to the Medina County Jail.

April 27 – Juveniles were spotted sitting on the train trestle over River Styx Road around 11:30 a.m. An officer told them to move on.

April 26 – An officer on patrol on Interstate 71 saw a vehicle whose owner had a OVI license suspension. A traffic stop was made, and the driver, Dean Reed, 51, of Fredericktown, was the owner. During a vehicle search, a tin and two baggies of marijuana were allegedly found. A grinder and rolling papers were also allegedly located. Reed was charged with driving under suspension, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

April 26 – A black male and his associate were warned around 7:30 p.m. in the area of Emerald Lakes Drive they cannot solicit door-to-door for a fertilizing company without a permit.
