Winquist's tennis girls sweep John Heil Memorial

Coach Beth Schaefer Winquist's players, Ali Garrity and Emma Deimling, won the 18's and 14's divisions at North Olmsted's John Heil Memorial Tennis Tournament on February 5.

Ali Garrity beat Ashley Lafountain in the Girls 18's finals 6-3, 6-1 after having a bye and beating Kennedy Mulholland 6-0, 6-2. This win moved Ali to No. 1 in Girls 18's in Northeast Ohio. She is a junior at Medina High School and a three-time "Post Player of the Year."

Emma Deimling beat Lillian Cook in the Girls 14's finals 1-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-6) after beating Molly Bauer 6-1, 6-4, and Lydia Peercy 6-3, 6-0. This win moved Emma to #9 in Girls 14's in Northeast Ohio. Emma, a 12-year-old home schooler, also is a pianist, ballet dancer and competitive swimmer.
