To the Editor:

As a city councilman, vice chair of the safety committee and as a resident, I know first-hand our highly trained fire department saves lives 24/7 in our city.

As you prepare to vote in the Nov. 7 general election, please make sure you vote all the way down your ballot, because there is a very important issue on the ballot here in North Royalton which is Issue 34, the EMS replacement levy, which I especially would like to urge for your support.

The EMS replacement levy will replace the current 1.7-mill EMS levy with a new, 5-year levy at the same 1.7-mill rate with today's value. The EMS replacement levy is needed because our emergency responses have more than doubled with 1,171 runs in 1993 vs. 2,395 in 2016 and due to deep cuts in state funding.

Please help us maintain this vital service to ensure that all our families continue to get the best care in the time of an emergency by voting in support of Issue 34.

Sincerely,

Dan Langshaw

Ward 3 Councilman

North Royalton
