The Northwestern Ruritans met at Northwestern High School Nov. 12.

After discussing some business, members went to the library for the STEM Advisory meeting and heard two high school student presentations.

One was on football players wearing special gloves which would indicate blood pressure ,etc. in hopes of cutting down on player deaths from dehydration. The other was on printing letters of the alphabet to make it easier for autistic children/people to be able to read.

A motion was passed the club donate $200 to the Team RWB (Red, White & Blue- military veterans helping each other) in addition to donating $750 to Panda Preschool, $600 to the Weekday Religious Education program, $250 to the Northwestern Schools Star Christmas Tree program, $200 to the NWHS Choir and $250 to the Wooster Salvation Army.

Chuck Beck reported on the Fall District Convention he and John Martin attended Nov. 10. The Citizenship and Patriotism committee and the Social Development committee each received a gold honor certificate for their projects this past year. The chapter received a certificate acknowledging its donation to the “Operation We Care Program” to assist storm victims, etc., which is sponsored by the Ruritan National Foundation.
