Earl Milford Tice

Earl Milford Tice, 77, of West Salem, died Nov. 8, 2019, at Akron General Hospital after a prolonged illness.

Earl was born May 21, 1942, in Highland, W.Va., to Elva and Lorena (née Mihlbauer) Tice. He served in the U.S. Air Force with distinction during the Vietnam War as a navigator on the C-130 Aircraft. During his off-duty time in Vietnam, he taught mathematics to the local children. He married Dorothy Bowie Feb. 15, 1969. Earl had many jobs over the years that included being a drill sergeant, working for Norfolk and Western, a DJ and a communications director for AT&T. He enjoyed HAM Radio, trains and airplanes. He also was involved with the Boy Scouts of America.

Earl will be deeply missed by his wife; children, Cheri Tice, of Los Angeles, and Jason (Laura) Tice, of West Salem; granddaughter, Emily Tice; great-granddaughter, Alayna Tice; sisters, Loretta (Mike) Lyne, of Oklahoma, and Ila Mae (John) Cox, of Marietta.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joseph Tice.

Roberts Funeral Home handled arrangements.
