MEDINA - Nice weather attracted crowds to the annual Ice Festival this past weekend.
"While the temperatures were a little warm for the works of ice art, which caused them to become cloudy, the fair temperatures brought out huge crowds of people and the sidewalks were jammed," said Matt Wiederhold, executive director of Main Street Medina.
The event was organized and sponsored by Main Street Medina, Excalibur Auto Body and Main Street Caf ©. More than 50 local businesses supported the festival through ice carving donations. Main Street Medina also sponsored an ice carving competition on Saturday afternoon.
"The Fire and Ice Tower on Friday night was a big hit, and roughly 300 people gathered on the square for the lighting," Wiederhold said. "The sunny skies helped attract a huge crowd. It was a great weekend with many visitors to the historic district."
