NORTON – The 2019 Norton Marching Band begins a busy summer. The 100 plus member band starts with a National Anthem performance as part of Norton Music night at the Akron Rubber Ducks Game July 18.

The band will next be seen in the winning neighborhood in their annual Neighborhood Challenge Tag Day contest. This year’s winning neighborhood, Flesher allottment, will witness an 11 a.m. parade on Saturday, Aug. 3, followed by a noon concert and picnic sponsored by the Norton Music Boosters. This will finish the end of the first of two weeks of band camp, preparing for the fall marching season.

The band and choir programs are also busy fundraising for the new year with a East of Chicago dining fundraiser on June 25, a Rummage Sale July 27, their annual Golf Outing Aug. 18 and their annual 200 Club Raffle. All fundraiser details can be found on the Norton Band and Norton Music Boosters Facebook pages.
