Rose Marie Kovach, (nee Bartunek), 75, of Strongsville, was the beloved wife of the late Daniel J., Sr.; loving mother of Daniel J., Jr. (Cindy); dear grandmother of Andrew and Sarah; dear aunt, cousin and sister-in-law of many. Kovach was a retired secretary from the Maple Hts. Public Schools. She passed away Feb. 20, 2012. She grew up in New York City and had many fond memories of her childhood there. She graduated from The Northfield School for Girls in Vermont. She went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in speech and drama from Mary Washington College of Virginia and later obtained a Master of Arts degree from the University of Akron in theatre arts management.

Margaret Labik, 85, of Wadsworth, passed away peacefully Feb. 14, 2012. She was preceded in death by parents John and Susie Labik and brother Milan Labik. She is survived by son Terry (Diane) Bloemer and daughter Paige (John) Nell, five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was proud of her Slovak heritage and well known for her cooking and Christmas cookies. She loved crocheting afghans for each family member and gardening. She than received her realtor license and worked for the former Bishop Realty for 14 years. Georgia had volunteered with the Brunswick Hills Fire Department auxiliary for many years. Some hobbies she enjoyed were craft projects, making candies and crocheting.

Joe Hamer, 74, passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012 at Hospice of Medina County Care Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Aug. 27, 1937 in Lewistown, Pa. to the late Archie Grant and LoDema Mae (Buttolph) Hamer. Joe graduated from Medina High School class of 1955. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and later the U.S. Army, serving his country proudly in Korea. He worked for National Disposer, Goodrich Tire and was a partner in The Video and Computer Place. He was a kind husband, an amazing father and a compassionate grandfather and most importantly the best of friends. He was a devoted Cleveland sports enthusiast. Joe never lost his loyalty, especially for the Cleveland Indians, ever hopeful for the coming season. He seldom missed a game. To this day and for years to come his name is etched in stone outside of Progressive Field, an appropriate symbol for such a loyal man.
