The Post staff writerAn 18-year-old Akron man charged with aggravated robbery and kidnapping killed himself in the Medina County Jail on the evening of Nov. 7.

Michale Elliot Green, 18, was found in his cell around 8:35 p.m., where corrections officers and jail medical staff attempted to revive him, according to the Medina County Sheriff’s Office. Green was then transported to Medina Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9:39 p.m. His family was then notified of his death by sheriff’s detectives.

Green had been in the jail since Oct. 10 on first-degree felony counts of aggravated robbery and kidnapping. The incident, which allegedly also involved a firearm, occurred March 6 in Harrisville Township. He was scheduled to go to trial Dec. 3.

Sheriff Neil Hassinger said Green is accused of holding up a store at Lodi Station Outlets and it took detectives more than six months to find and arrest him.

“It’s so sad, he should be living a productive life,” he said about Elliott.
