To the Editor:

In response to Kevin McManus' March 21 "The Buzz Around Town" column, this is what I have noticed:

More acts of kindness, compassion and concern for others than I have seen in a long time.

Neighbors, after living next door to an older adult for years, going over, introducing themselves and handing over their phone number, telling this person to call them if she needs anything.

Take-out meals from restaurants, parents offering to help with childcare and meals for working parents who have school-age children.

Riding my bike (I ride all winter) and seeing kids playing outside, parents walking the down the street with their children, along with couples out walking their dogs; churches reaching out via email asking if anyone needs help.

Isolation and protection in the prevention of spread is needed, albeit I am seeing unity, compassion and care and not so much confinement and solidarity.

Nurses, doctors, first responders and, not to mention, our Medina County Health Department answering numerous phone calls daily to ensure and educate.

We are truly blessed in Medina County.
